The Homak safe is an excellent product for what it is intended to do, keep hand guns or other items you intend to keep from the hands of children. If you want a safe that is fire proof and keeps professional criminals out please feel free to spend 10 to 20 times more money. The only downside is it took several times to figure out the re-programming process, but I figured it out and it works perfectly. It requires 4 AA batteries (not included) and there is a process to access the safe in front with a 9v battery (and using original code that came with the safe) if the main batteries fail. It fits prefectly in night stand or bedroom armoire and allows quick and easy access even at night. I feel a lot more secure since it would be impossible for my children to get into. If you want reliable, low cost insurance to keep unwanted items from your children this is it. (A note to Amazon, please ensure that the pictures for Homak products are correct, currently they are not and it can lead to ordering the wrong product. Buyers please ensure you pay close attention to the measurement dimensions and not the pictures). Great product!

I bought a couple of these units, in different sizes. Purchased 3 altogether. Sent 1 back b/c lock was DOA. The other 2 I have and use for handgun storage. My issue is that they both forget the programmed code easily and for no apparent reason. I understand if the batteries die that will happen, but batteries are fine and continue working. These are low cost and work OK, but I don't understand why the programmable functionality is so broken. I will try call HOMAK one of these days and see how they handle it.

Very nice. Works great. Lots of room for for 2 or 3 pistols or whatever else you want to put in it. Not much more to say. I'm satisfied with the product and seller.

This is an excellent way to secure your sidearms when not carrying or sleeping at night. Can be secured to the wall or floor with some effort. Instructions are a little vague about where the set button is inside the safe. To set the code, You have to feel around inside the safe, on the backside, middle area, of the keypad and you will find the button . Perfect size for two to three handguns and/or a couple boxes of ammo. A smaller size is also available that will hold 1 handgun and a box of ammo. The only negative is that this safe is not fireproof, but perfect for temporary storage! This is a well built safe for the money
